Frequently asked questions.
What's the difference between Wonder, Creator and Pro?
Wonder keeps the camera automatic: choose a look, set its strength and record.
Creator adds direct control over exposure, shutter, white balance and focus without filling the viewfinder with technical data.
Pro opens the complete capture and color interface, including professional formats, LUT workflows, advanced grading and external storage. You can change modes at any time.
Do I have to create a WonderFilm account?
No. You can open the camera and record without creating a WonderFilm profile. Sign in with Apple is optional.
If you choose to sign in, Apple lets you decide whether to share your email or use a private relay address. Signing in does not add you to a marketing list. App Store purchases are associated with the Apple ID used for payment and restore through Apple's StoreKit.
Which iPhones are supported?
This WonderFilm release supports iOS 17.2 or later. The App Store checks whether your iPhone can install the app.
Camera capabilities vary by iPhone model and active capture format. Features such as Apple Log, ProRes, high frame rates and particular lenses appear only when the current device and format support them.
Why does WonderFilm ask for camera, microphone, Photos or location access?
Camera and microphone access are needed to record video and sound. WonderFilm requests add-only Photos access when you choose Photos as the save destination; it does not request permission to read your library.
Location is optional. If enabled, WonderFilm can write the capture location into clip and photo metadata on your device. WonderFilm does not send that location to our servers.
What does Wonder Pro include?
Wonder Pro is designed for creative range and professional workflows. It unlocks:
- All 48 built-in looks
- Lift, Gamma and Gain wheels, HSL controls and tone curves
- Apple Log and ProRes on supported devices and formats
- Standard
.cubeLUT import and export - Files and compatible external USB-C storage destinations
- An optional ungraded master alongside the finished clip
Basic recording, manual controls and practical monitoring remain available in the free experience.
How much does Wonder Pro cost?
US pricing is currently $4.99 monthly, $19.99 annually or a $49.99 lifetime purchase. Apple displays your local currency, taxes and final price before you confirm.
We do not use countdowns or artificial deadlines. If Apple offers an introductory price or trial to your account, its exact terms appear in the App Store purchase sheet before payment.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, then choose WonderFilm.
You keep Pro access until the end of the paid billing period. A lifetime purchase does not renew.
How do I restore Pro on another iPhone?
Use the same Apple ID that made the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases from WonderFilm's purchase screen. StoreKit verifies the entitlement directly with Apple.
Your optional WonderFilm sign-in is separate from App Store billing and is not required to restore a purchase.
Can I import my own LUTs?
Yes, with Wonder Pro. WonderFilm supports standard .cube LUT files. Imported LUTs remain in your local app storage unless you move or share the source file yourself.
Why can’t I select Apple Log or ProRes?
Those options depend on the active iPhone, camera lens, resolution and frame rate. WonderFilm shows them only when the device reports that the selected capture format supports them.
For everyday footage, HEVC offers excellent quality at much smaller file sizes and records the selected WonderFilm look directly into the clip.
Where are recordings saved?
Photos is the default destination. Wonder Pro can also save to a folder in Files or to a compatible external USB-C drive.
WonderFilm does not keep a cloud copy, so confirm that the chosen destination has enough space and back up important footage.
Why are ProRes files so large?
ProRes keeps substantially more image data than HEVC, which makes it useful for post-production but increases storage and write-speed requirements. A long 4K recording can use many gigabytes.
Use HEVC when you want a finished, efficient file; use ProRes when the project benefits from a heavier professional master.
Does WonderFilm upload my footage?
No. Video and photos stay on the destination you choose. WonderFilm does not upload, store or inspect your footage. Read the Privacy Policy for the complete current data practices.
What happens when I use Sign in with Apple?
Apple provides WonderFilm with an app-specific identifier and, only if you choose to share them, a name and email or Apple private relay address. The current app keeps this sign-in information locally while profile-sync services are offline.
We will update the Privacy Policy before enabling server-side profile sync or using account information for a new purpose.
How do I remove local data or make a privacy request?
Deleting WonderFilm removes its local settings and optional local profile information. You can revoke Sign in with Apple access from your Apple ID settings. Apple retains App Store purchase history under its own policies.
